Party starting festival favourite Dub Pistols are returning to Dubai.
The UK big-beat veterans will be live at The Baggot @ McGettigan’s JLT on Friday February 16. Expect to hear the outfit’s signature, genre-hopping “reggae-breaks-jungle mashup”.
Founded by Barry Ashworth two decades ago as a DJ/live band hybrid, the group claim to have been on the verge of stardom in 2001, after being signed by Interscope magnate Jimmy Lovine and anointed Geffen Records’ priority act for America.
Over the years the Pistols have worked with heroes like The Specials, Busta Rhymes, Horace Andy, Madness and Gregory Isaacs.
Their sixth and most recent album Return of The Pistoleros was released on Rob Da Banks's Sunday Best imprint in 2015.
Previous UAE visits include a live appearance at Barasti in 2014 and a DJ set for Superheros at Story Rooftop last year.
Tickets will be on sale from the venue and platinumlist.net “soon”.
