Elsa and Anna to return in Disney’s Frozen 2

Disney confirmed last week that a sequel to Frozen is in the works, delighting fans who flocked to the first film in droves and sending shares in the studio soaring. The most successful animated film in history, Frozen has already raked in a cool US$1.3 billion (Dh4.77bn) in earnings since its release in 2013, picking up two Oscars and a clutch of other awards along the way. Meanwhile, the short film Frozen Fever was released alongside Disney's live-action feature film Cinderella on Thursday. The featurette revolves around the problems that ensue when Elsa comes down with a heavy cold during preparations for her sister Anna's birthday party. Rihanna is the new face of Dior

Rihanna has a new gig: representing Christian Dior. The French fashion house said on Friday that the 27-year-old superstar singer will appear in an upcoming video and print campaign filmed in Versailles that will run this spring. A spokeswoman for Dior would not comment further on Rihanna’s involvement with the company. – AP

Harper Lee’s agent dismisses ‘elder abuse’ allegations

Harper Lee's literary agent says he was "surprised" that his client was believed to be a victim of elder abuse and asserted "categorically" that she was in "full possession of her mental faculties". The statement from Andrew Nurnberg was issued on Friday through Lee's publisher, HarperCollins. Speculation about the 88-year-old author has been ongoing since last month's announcement that Lee had approved the release of Go Set a Watchman, her first book since To Kill a Mockingbird. State investigators in Alabama looked into whether publishing Go Set a Watchman involved financial fraud. Lee answered questions to the satisfaction of the Alabama Securities Commission and that part of the inquiry was closed, a state official said on Thursday. The state's Department of Human Resources oversaw the investigation. – AP

Alleged Cosby victim testifies before Nevada legislature

A woman who says she was victimised by Bill Cosby is asking Nevada lawmakers to remove the statute of limitations on reporting sexual assault. Lise-Lotte Lublin said that a Nevada law requiring reports be filed within four years of the incident prevents her from pursuing a case against the comedian. Lublin says she lost consciousness after Cosby gave her two alcoholic drinks at the Las Vegas Hilton in 1989. She said she went public about the incident after hearing numerous similar allegations. Cosby’s publicist did not immediately respond to an email message seeking comment. Cosby has denied allegations other women have made against him. Democratic Assemblywoman Irene Bustamante Adams is sponsoring the bill. She said the bill is necessary because many women don’t immediately report sexual assault. – AP
