Eva Mendes pregnant with Ryan Gosling’s baby

The US-based OK! magazine on Wednesday reported that the 40-year-old star Eva Mendes is pregnant with Ryan Gosling's child and is supposedly seven months along. While new reports claim that "sources have confirmed the pregnancy", a spokesperson for the couple is yet to make an official comment. Gosling, 33, and Mendes began dating in 2011. In February, a rumour that Mendes was pregnant quickly spread after she told officers at Los Angeles International Airport that she could not pass through a body scanner because she was expecting a baby. She later denied being pregnant on Ellen DeGeneres's talk show. – The National staff

Finding Fanny trailer gets over one million views

Within a day of being uploaded on YouTube, the trailer of Finding Fanny, an English-language film by the Indian director Homi Adajania, got more than a million hits on YouTube. "Content is king and the reaction to the Finding Fanny trailer proves just that. This is the movie to watch out for this year and we are very happy with the response and feedback that we have been getting on the trailer," said Vijay Singh, the chief executive of Fox Star Studios. The comedy stars Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia in the lead roles. The producer Dinesh Vijan said: "Finding Fanny is a film that needed the support of the online community and we are overwhelmed with the response to our trailer. People, especially the youth, are loving the five odd ball characters and embracing the madness that they bring." Presented by Fox Star Studios, Finding Fanny is produced by Maddock Films. Dick Jones, the voice of Pinocchio, dies at 87

Dick Jones, the voice of Pinocchio in the classic 1940 Walt Disney cartoon, has died. He was 87. His son Rick Jones told the Los Angeles Times that his father died on Monday after a fall at home. The cause hasn't been determined. Dick Jones was just 10 years old but already had appeared in nearly 40 movies when he got the part of Pinocchio. The son of a Texas newspaper editor, he learnt to ride and rope at an early age and had a Western show career by the age of 4. Other roles included Henry Aldrich on the radio show The Aldrich Family, and parts in movies such as Destry Rides Again and Stella Dallas. In the 1950s he had roles in TV Westerns, including the lead in Buffalo Bill, Jr. – AP

Sigourney Weaver and the cast of Alien to be featured in video game

Sigourney Weaver, who portrayed the unflappable officer Ellen Ripley in the Alien film franchise, is reprising her role in a forthcoming video game set after the events of the original 1979 film. Weaver and several cast members from filmmaker Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror film recorded new dialogue and will have their likeness appear in bonus levels of Alien: Isolation" Other cast members returning to their roles as Nostromo crew members include Tom Skerritt, Yaphet Kotto and Veronica Cartwright. The central story of Isolation centres on Ripley's daughter Amanda. She was briefly mentioned in a scene from the 1986 sequel Aliens. The game marks the first time Weaver has reprised the role since the 1997 sequel Alien Resurrection. – AP

Bieber gets two years’ probation over LA egg-throwing

The Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, who has been in trouble with the law in recent months, got two years of probation in Los Angeles Wednesday over an egg-throwing attack. The teenage idol did not appear in court. His attorneys entered a no contest plea on his behalf on a single misdemeanour vandalism charge before Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Leland Harris.
