Dilip Kumar’s ancestral home declared national heritage
The Bollywood thespian Dilip Kumar's ancestral home in Peshawar has been declared national heritage by the Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif. The politician has directed the ministry of information, broadcasting and national heritage to acquire the house, which will later be "converted into a museum". The prime minister's approval has been forwarded to the Pakistan National Council of Arts, according to the Pakistani daily, The Nation. A special meeting will be held to review the development of the five-storeyed house, located in Peshawar's famous Qissa Khawani Bazaar. Dilip Kumar, 91, was born Yusuf Khan in Peshawar; his family moved to Mumbai in the 1930s. – IANS
