MAD Solutions has snapped up the regional distribution rights for British-Algerian director Salem Brahimi's feature debut, the French-Algerian co-production Let Them Come, which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) earlier this week. The film's producers include Michèle Ray Gavras and director Costa-Gavras (Missing, Amen.)
Let Them Come is an adaptation of Arezki Mellal's novel, and revolves around a family that must defend itself amidst violence between government forces and radical groups in 1990s Algeria.
Brahimi commented: "I feel very strongly about making this film available to audiences in the Arab World. Let Them Come is not only about a family in Algeria in the 90s. It is a film about today, and about the present plight of too many families in too many countries in our part of the world. I look forward to working with MAD Solutions in bringing this story to our region."
