The second instalment of My Old House will kick off on December 23. As part of the Al Ain Cultural Programme 2017/18, the tour offers the public a view of the old houses and architecture styles that were adopted by early Emirati residents.
Tour guides from the Al Ain National Museum will also lead discussions on the natural materials used to build the houses as well as the lifestyle and traditions that were popular during that same period.
Al Ain is renowned for its historic roots. Al Ain Oasis is also home to the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in the UAE.
Tours will begin at 9am from Al Ain National Museum and include visits to Al Ain Oasis, Al Qubaisi House, Jimi Historic Buildings, Qattara Historic Buildings, and Qattara Arts Centre and Souk.
The second instalment of the My Old House tours will run on December 23 2017, from 9am — 12:30pm. The tours are open to all, and are free. Prior registration is required through aanm@dctabudhabi.ae.
