With National Day on the horizon, UAE residents gathered at Warehouse421 in Mina Zayed in Abu Dhabi to express their love of the country and its Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed, through paint and canvas.
Budding artists of various ages and nationalities participated in the free event that enabled them to create vibrant artworks that will be displayed for high-ranking dignitaries and honoured guests attending the UAE National Day celebratory event, This Is Zayed. This is the UAE, on Sunday at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in the capital. Forty-seven works have been selected for the display, with subjects including Sheikh Zayed, falcons, camels, flags, skylines and the desert, each expressing emotions ranging from gratitude to passion for the country.
The National Day show itself reflects Sheikh Zayed’s life and vision for the country and its people, and will honour the 47th anniversary of the founding of the nation, as well as the centenary of Sheikh Zayed’s birth. An immersive experience, the large-scale show will include light effects, inspirational readings, live performances and digital art.
The show on Sunday starts at 3pm. Tickets cost from Dh60 and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.ae.
