Video: What to expect from new videogame Guitar Hero Live

Excitement is building for the latest edition of popular video game franchise Guitar Hero.

The series is a party favourite, allowing gamers to live out their rock star fantasies by learning to cop classic riffs on a virtual guitar.

While more than 20 editions and sequels of the franchise currently exist, Guitar Hero Live promises a whole new immersive experience, and a new guitar-shaped controller.

It marks the first release in the series to come from developers FreeStyleGames. This time things have been switched to focus on an onstage, first-person perspective, at two virtual music festivals.

Most exciting is the new GHTV, a live music channel which will run 24/7 with tunes which can be played along to with the game.

Fresh details have been announced for the first time in the below preview video, released ahead of Europe’s upcoming Gamescon 2015.

• Guitar Hero Live will be released on October 23. Find out more at www.guitarhero.com.
