Much loved by drivers who appreciate high-end performance motoring, Aston Martin's Vantage V600 has been reborn in the form of a customer-commissioned limited run of all-new V12 V600s, inspired and influenced by the original V8 version. Delivering 600bhp, the model was one of the most powerful sports cars of its time. To buy one in prime condition now will not be cheap - an original V8 Vantage is currently being offered on the classiccarsforsale.co.uk website for £375,000 (Dh1.8 million) Fast forward 20 years and the luxury British car maker’s personalisation service Q by Aston Martin received a customer commission for a strictly limited run of 14 new V12 Vantage V600s. Split between seven coupes and seven roadsters and dubbed the "Triple V", this is a unique series of handcrafted manual V12 V600s. It is perhaps a good time to be launching such a series. Last year the UK company achieved its highest full-year sales volumes in nine years, driven by rising demand in North America, the UK and China. It sold 5,117 sports cars in 2017, a 58 per cent year on year growth in retail sales. The new the V12, underpinned by the previous-generation VH Vantage, combines the modern performance of a muscle sportscar with styling echoes of the original, creating the what Aston describes as the "ultimate analogue Vantage". _______________ Read more: Aston Martin targets $6.8bn valuation in potential IPO Aston Martin reverses loss to post record first nine-months _______________ “This is precisely why we created our ‘Q by Aston Martin - Commission’ service," says Marek Reichman, vice president and chief creative officer at Aston Martin. "Our customers can create truly bespoke sports cars by personally collaborating with myself and Aston Martin’s design team. The V600 name remains a classic in Aston Martin’s heritage." The new car is powered by an upgraded version of Aston Martin’s impressive 6 litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, producing 580 brake horse power. It has a 7-speed manual transmission and front and rear dual independent wishbone suspension, while an all-new carbon fibre diffuser provides the backdrop for an attention grabbing quad exhaust system.
