To some outsiders, Yas Marina Circuit is little more than home to the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix. But one man's mission is to turn the Circuit into a destination for all kinds of motorists and racing enthusiasts—whether young or old, or male or female. Faisal al Sahlawi, the racing school manager for Yas Marina Circuit, helps create different driving "experiences," as he calls them. One programme sees regular drivers get behind the wheel of an Aston Martin GT4 alongside a qualified instructor. Another puts passengers in a Yas SuperSport SST and lets them improve their on-circuit performance for those looking to trim down their lap time. Of course, they'll have to perfect their technique while strapped into an open-cockpit sports prototype race car while a four-cylinder engine revs in the background. "This is for everyone," says Mr Sahlawi. "You don't need a special racing license."
