Filipina actress, singer and songwriter Jennylyn Mercado has given birth to her first child with husband, actor, model and recording artist Dennis Trillo. The duo announced the news in a vlog titled Nursery Tour, which was uploaded on their YouTube channel on Sunday. In episode 13 of the couple's vlog, which had garnered 230,000 views within 16 hours of being uploaded, Mercado offers viewers a detailed walk-through of the baby’s nursery, with behind-the-scenes footage of the space being transformed. The couple have subscribed to conventional colour codes with their decorating palette, with lots of pink for their new baby girl. There’s a cot covered in pink tulle, a sumptuous pink rocking chair for nursing and a wallpaper mural of flamingoes. Other features include shelves brimming with children’s books, a changing station and carefully labelled drawers for onesies, swaddles and diapers. While the baby’s name has not yet been shared, a wooden carving of the letter D reveals her first initial. Notably, there’s a sanitising station outside the door and a sign on the door that reads “wearing is caring”, requesting that everyone who enters dons a face mask. Viewers who stick around until the end of the 17-minute video are greeted with a surprise. The date 25/4/22 appears on the screen and then shows footage of the couple in a hospital room. Mercado reveals that they had come in for a standard check-up and were unexpectedly informed she would be giving birth, even though they were not prepared. In the next clip, Trillo admits he is nervous before the video concludes with a photo from inside the operating room. The couple’s countless fans will no doubt be disappointed not to see any signs of the new arrival, but the pair have yet to release any images or further clues about the baby’s name. Both Mercado and Trillo have sons from previous relationships. The couple first dated in 2010, but broke up a year later. They reunited in 2014 and married in an intimate civil ceremony in November last year, shortly after announcing they were expecting a child together.
