Have you ever bemoaned the person sitting next to you as you take in the latest Hollywood blockbuster, as they chew loudly and check their brightly lit phone? Or have you longed for a giant screen and plush armchairs in your own home, so you can get the cinema experience but without the strangers sat next to you? If your answer to both of those questions is yes, then the UAE's latest big-screen experience might be the perfect compromise. Cinema chain Vox is launching a first-of-its-kind private cinema, located in Dubai's five-star Kempinski Hotel at Mall of the Emirates. The A-list venue features just 15 cosy seats, allowing viewers to book the whole space for a group of friends, family members or a special occasion, such as a birthday party or a swish work night out. Guests can pick the film screened from a list of the latest Hollywood, Bollywood and Arabic blockbusters, with the cinema set to open on Thursday, August 8. The experience also comes with a side of fine-dining, with a lavish lounge area, bar and private waiter service. Moviegoers can tuck into dishes such as burgers, grilled meats, seafood and salads at the large dining table, all prepared to order. (There are also premium French cheeses and decadent desserts on the menu, for those who want to turn dinner into a multi-course affair). The four-hour experience rings in at Dh3,000, which includes soft drinks and popcorn, while additional food and drink packages can be added on, too. It sounds like a celebrity price tag at first, however, with Dh3,000 split between 15 people, guests are looking at Dh200 a head, which isn't much more than most cinemas' premium services. There will be three slots available to book each day and wearing a red-carpet gown to make it feel like a Hollywood premiere is optional. For more information, call 055 167 3908 or email kempinski.privatescreen@maf.co.ae.
