New York Fashion Week is in full swing, kicking off the season for spring / summer 2020 ready to wear collections. Tom Ford, Caroline Herrera and Jeremy Scott are among the big name designers to show so far, with collections from Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors still to come. Among the collections presented over the past week, there have been plenty of great moments for modest fashion. Here we round up some of the best. Proenza Schouler's spring / summer collection kept things light with classic spring neutrals, and the occasional pop of colour. The ready-to-wear collection was all about layering, like this clean ivory blazer paired with a geometric beige skirt and blouse combination. Never one to shy away from glamour, Oscar de la Renta’s spring / summer 2020 collection was true to form, with plenty of romantic ruffles and spring florals. This long-sleeved angel gown in metallic gold stole the show with its exaggerated pleats and flowing hemline. It was bright patterns and bold cuts at Naeem Khan's NYFW spring/summer 2020 show. This tropical trapeze dress, styled with oversized hoops and layered necklaces, was made for sunny climates. Colour block suits are going nowhere next season, as Tom Ford showed with his spring/summer vision. His all-white offering is the perfect way to do layered spring tailoring. Zimmermann's spring / summer collection is one of the most talked about from this season’s NYFW, thanks to its classic florals, dreamy fabrics and bold colours. This pastel yellow chiffon gown is a spring staple, while the crochet orange high neck dress makes a summer statement. It was all about clashes at Collina Strada, mixing silky fabrics with heavy jackets, and delicate florals with bold patterns. This pastel blue silk dress mixed with a deep red patterned shacket (that's a shirt jacket, for any novices) makes for a playful and interesting spring look. Irish-Palestinian influencer Marwa Biltagi has been showcasing some serious modest wear street style throughout NYFW. She hit the Tory Burch show wearing head-to-toe pink, with a pleated Marni skirt, Blaze Milano jacket and matching hijab from Haute Hijab. _________________ Read more: New York Fashion Week: All the celebrities on the front row at spring / summer 2019 shows In the Vanguard of fashion: meet the four emerging designers Net-a-Porter is throwing its weight behind this season From mannequin parades to robotic models: the evolution of the fashion show _________________
