Beloved Egyptian puppet Abla Fahita has gone green, quite literally, for a new fashion campaign. The TV star, who unveiled the Netflix show Drama Queen earlier this year, has switched out her signature brunette locks for emerald waves as part of a shoot with adidas. The smart-talking puppet, who was first unveiled in 2010 and went on to front her own show, Abla Fahita Live, is the face of a new Stan Smith campaign in the Mena region. Fahita poses in the classic trainers, finished with a green trim, as well as a black jacket by the sportswear brand in the newly released images. "I am even green in my shoes for my children's future," Fahita posted on Instagram. The Forever Green campaign forms part of adidas's efforts to cut down on plastic waste, with the label redesigning a line of its Stan Smith trainers with more sustainable fabrics. "The sneaker features a white prime green upper, a series of high-performance recycled materials, matched with a recycled rubber outsole," adidas revealed. The collection, designed in collaboration with Disney, also features designs inspired by characters such as the Hulk, Tinker Bell and Kermit the Frog. The line is available at adidas stores globally, the brand's website states. Fahita features in the campaign fresh from the release of her six-episode series Drama Queen, which premiered on Netflix last month. The show follows the satirical character as she goes on the run after being implicated in a crime. Fahita is forced to separate from her children, Caro and Boudi, and is shunned by society. The series charts her efforts to clear her name and return to her children. Drama Queen also features a number of Egyptian stars, including After the Battle actor Bassem Samra, Coming Forth by Day actress Donia Maher and Judgement Day actor Osama Abdallah.
