Ferragamo puts its best foot forward

Salvatore Ferragamo has unveiled its new season ad campaign.

Having first made its name creating high-end shoes for Hollywood film stars in the early 1920s, Ferragamo has since expanded into ready-to-wear, sunglasses and even jewellery. Despite this, shoes and leather have always remained at the very heart of the house, and this heritage is being celebrated with the new autumn winter 2017 advertising campaign.

The campaign is called Ferragamo and I and is shot by photographer Walter Pfeiffer, in what marks a new direction for the house. Playful and fun, the images have bright backgrounds and dynamic crops, with eye catching geometric patterns that run through the images. The feel is exuberant and a definite return to the style that made Ferragamo famous all those years ago. Although modern and fresh, these vibrant photographs are a little step back in time, and a refocus on what the house is so famous for: the shoes.

While the male and female models are wearing clothes from Ferragamo's latest collection, the shoes and, indeed, bags are the star of every shot. Blending new with retro, the images throw the footwear in the spotlight, giving a neat nod to the company's history.
