In practice, it is a legal definition assigned to the few designers invited to join the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris. Only members of this organisation have the right to use the term haute couture, of which Zuhair Murad is one. Other members in this region include Rami Al Ali, Ellie Saab and as of 2016, Michael Cinco.
