Abu Dhabi Foodie News: Buca di Beppo opens at Dalma Mall, Tori No Su now serves lunch and more



• Buca di Beppo has just opened in Dalma Mall. This American restaurant chain specialises in traditional Italian cuisine, with classics such as lasagne, spicy chicken rigatoni and spaghetti with the restaurant's famous half-pound meatballs. Sharing dishes are served family style to add to the relaxed, casual vibe. This is the second Buca di Beppo in the UAE. The first location opened in Yas Mall last month. • Tori No Su, the Japanese restaurant at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, is now open for lunch Sunday through Thursday. The new set lunch menu includes 15 options that each include a main plus rice, soup or salad (sometimes both) and a dessert. There are five donburi tray menu options at Dh100; five lunch set menus at Dh130 and an additional five options at Dh150. Lunch at Tori No Su is served from noon to 3:30pm, Sunday through Thursday. • Dai Pai Dong, the Cantonese restaurant at the Rosewood Abu Dhabi, is celebrating the Zhōngqiū Festival with authentic, handmade mooncakes. The mooncakes — round pastries, stuffed with a rich, thick filling — often contain one or more whole salted egg yolks to represent the moon. Dai Pai Dong’s roast mooncake flavours are: red bean paste; pure red lotus paste; egg yolk and lotus paste; and mixed nut paste. They’ll offer a selection of rock skin mooncake flavours as well: vanilla ice cream paste; chocolate ice cream; strawberry ice cream paste; and green tea and lotus paste. • Bentley Bistro & Bar has just revamped its menu. The restaurant’s most popular bites are still available, but you’ll now find new dishes such as roast rump of lamb and green pea fricassee; Bentley’s beef wellington; and slow-cooked duck breast with vanilla mash, chicory, cherry and gingerbread. Some of the new dishes will be carved table-side by waiters who will talk diners through the different techniques used to cook the meat. The bar menu has also been modified with new options such as Sriracha chicken lollipops and a lobster BLT bun. Bentley Bistro & Bar is in The Galleria on Al Maryah Island. • Koi Restaurant & Lounge on Saadiyat Island has a new bento box lounge menu. The new concept offers three assortments every day from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Options are miso bronzed black cod; cornfed chicken breast; and lean peppercorn fillet mignon. Each bento box also contains seafood tempura, warm salad, mashed potatoes, a maki roll and miso soup. Prices for the bento box meals range from Dh155 to Dh175. Koi Restaurant & Lounge is in The Collection within The St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort. It’s open Saturday to Wednesday from 6:30pm to 1am and Thursday and Friday from 6:30pm to 2am. For reservations, call 02 678 3334.

The chalet
Chalet N is currently open in winter only, between now and April 21. During the ski season, starting on December 11, a week’s rental costs from €210,000 (Dh898,431) per week for the whole property, which has 22 beds in total, across six suites, three double rooms and a children’s suite. The price includes all scheduled meals, a week’s ski pass, Wi-Fi, parking, transfers between Munich, Innsbruck or Zurich airports and one 50-minute massage per person. Private ski lessons cost from €360 (Dh1,541) per day. Halal food is available on request.
