MasterChef, the TV Experience already gives you a taste of of the popular culinary competition's cuisine, with a menu packed full of dishes crafted by the international series' contestants. Later this month, you'll be able to sample dishes by a bona fide MasterChef, Simon Wood, winner of the UK edition's 11th season in 2015. Wood will be in the UAE from Monday, September 30 until Friday, October 4, on a guest chef residency at MasterChef, the TV Experience at the Dubai Marina's Millennium Place Marina hotel. Key dishes on the chef's limited-edition five-course menu include an asparagus panna cotta amuse bouche and Wagyu tartare, followed by either roasted monkfish with oxtail ragu or an artichoke and celeriac risotto. The meal will conclude with a strawberry shortcake amouse-gueule and citrus tutti frutti, the dessert which saw him crowned champion of the television show. There will also be the option to enjoy a beverage pairing. The chef will also host a Masterclass evening for just 10 guests on September 30, where he will chat with diners and "oversee a cooking tutorial featuring two main course dishes available throughout his Dubai residency." Wood was in the UAE for the opening of the restaurant in April this year. “After flying to Dubai in April for the opening of the first-ever MasterChef, the TV Experience restaurant, I’ve spent the last couple of months trialling different dishes that I believe will appeal to the city’s cosmopolitan population of discerning diners,” said Wood. “It’s a real honour to be invited to host a residency at the restaurant – I’m sure it’s going to take me right back to 2015 when we filmed the show, especially as the dessert I’m serving is the same one I created for judges during the final cook-off!” Since winning the culinary series, Wood has gone on to open Wood Restaurants, two eateries located in the north of England, in Manchester and Chester. The five-course menu is available for Dh410, from Monday, September 30 until Friday, October 4 at MasterChef, the TV Experience; the Wood Masterclass on September 30 costs Dh489 (soft drinks), Dh649 (house beverages), Millennium Place Marina, Dubai Marina, info@masterchefdxb.com, 04 550 8111, www.masterchefdxb.com _________________ Read more: There's no better global food city than Dubai, let me explain why Sweet Greens: Abu Dhabi's eco-friendly and health conscious eatery 10 world-renowned restaurants coming to Dubai and Abu Dhabi _________________
