We reported mere days ago that Salt Bae's new burger restaurant in DIFC in Dubai looked ready to fling open its doors, and that day has arrived. The viral social media star and man behind popular steakhouse Nusr-Et, whose real name is Nusret Gokce, shared the momentous occasion with his legions of garnish-loving followers on Instagram: Saltbae Burger opened in Gate Village, Building 2, on Monday, November 4, and managed to feed 720 guests in its first day, Gokce said on the social media platform. It's also the world's first Saltbae Burger. Gokce has several other burger joints, with four Nusr-et Burger outlets in Istanbul, but this seems to be the first under the "Saltbae" umbrella. In a string of videos shared with his 23.7 million followers, Gokce shared a first look at the full restaurant yesterday. The new venue appears to be rather minimalist with industrial-style, all-grey surfaces and slate floors. But unlike the decor, the food and drink on offer looked anything but reserved. There appears to be at least one burger covered in edible gold, and monstrous shakes galore. Naturally, there's also a large mural of Gokce on the wall, elbow cocked and fingers pinched, in his now world-famous salt-sprinkling pose. The menu is not available online yet, nor is there a reservation system in place, a Nusr-et employee told us when we called to inquire about the new venue. He said the restaurant was only accepting walk-ins, and the menu could only be viewed on site, as "even TripAdvisor doesn't have it yet". In February, Gokce announced he would be opening a burger joint in New York City later this year.
