While trudging through Beirut's Gemmayze district for Luxury magazine's September fashion shoot, the crew came across a seemingly abandoned moped parked in front of a neighborhood grocery shop. Although the road was under construction, and large trucks kept rolling backwards on the slanted street, the team paused for a a few quick shots, after securing approval from the moped owner, who was shopping for fruits inside. The model wears a top and trouser set by Lebanese designer Mira Hayek. Though it may appear like an ordinary black tracksuit at first glance, the sides of the sleeves and trousers feature white diamond strips, which are detached and free-flowing from the knees down on the trousers. The Beirut-based designer has a penchant for embellishing easy-to-wear streetwear with peppy ruffles and three-dimensional elements. Since a monochrome palette provides a stylist with the perfect canvas for accessories, we added matching heels by Versace and an embellished clutch by fellow Beirut-based brand Sarah's Bag, available online at Lebelik. This is a great styling lesson to work into your own wardrobe. Since tracksuits have become more acceptable in mainstream fashion, decorate yours with carefully selected accessories to make them more wearable – and, dare we say, glamorous. To complete the home-grown Beirut theme, we decorated the model's wrist with two watch-inspired bangles by Beirut jewellery label Vanina. A pair of red-toned sunglasses by Kaleos, available online at The Modist, was the final touch to the outfit.
