Hand-picked by photographer Timo Kerber, who shot the September fashion editorial for The National's Luxury magazine, model Niko Raim is a Londoner of Sudanese heritage. For the shoot, the Luxury team visited Morocco’s blue city – Chefchaouen – over a sultry August weekend. Ever the professional, Niko agreed to cut her summer holiday short, and flew from Ibiza to London to Casablanca, before embarking on the five-hour drive to the city of Chefchaouen. Much in demand, Niko is used to shooting all over the world with the likes of David Sims, Tim Walker, Harley Weir and Rankin, so was thankfully unfazed by the incessant heat and attention that she drew against the city's striking azure walls. Here's a look from a campaign shot by British fashion photographer Tim Walker: The model has also walked the runway for Vicktor & Rolf, Kenzo, Fendi, Molly Goddard, Rick Owens, Fyodor Golan, Ashley Williams, A.W.A.K.E. and Faustine Steimetz. Check out her haute couture turn in Vicktor & Rolf: For our shoot, Out of the Blue, which you can see below, Niko was dressed in the vivid colours of autumn/winter 2018. A consummate professional, she embarked on the climbing of ladders and countless stairs – all in heels – with the barely perceptible shoulder shrug typical of a Londoner. Luxury magazine's September fashion editor, shot by Timo Kerber in Chefchaouen, Morocco, starring Niko: She’s set for a stellar career, and we were lucky to catch her before she jetted off to New York for the start of Fashion Week. ________________________________________ Read more stories from Luxury magazine's September issue: ________________________________________
