The Delange D8S Roadster was a hit at its first public appearance, the 1933 Paris Auto Show, and now 77 years later it has taken top honours at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The 1933 Delage D8S De Villars Roadster was selected from among the hundreds of cars and dozens of contenders vying for supremacy on the highly exclusive strip of grass. The all-white classic car came from the collection of Jim Patterson, who has won numerous Best in Class accolades at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, as well as Best of Show awards at other events, but never highest honours in Monterey. Restoration work was conducted by RM, a company based in Ontario, Canada, that has earned its share of respect recently, with three prior Best of Show wins in the last nine years. The vehicle was originally owned by the son of the Prime Minister of Spain in the Thirties. A Delage has won at Pebble on two previous occasions, in 1996 and 2005.
