A new tourist attraction has opened in China at Raffles City Chongqing's The Crystal, the world’s highest sky bridge linking the most number of towers. The new Exploration Deck is 250 metres high and boasts 270-degree panoramic views of Chongqing’s skyline in south-west China. Its glass-bottom deck allows visitors to feel as though they’re walking in mid-air while admiring views of the Yangtze River merging with the Jialing River below. The attraction also includes an exploration-themed exhibition that’s been designed in collaboration with National Geographic, which takes visitors through the history and development of Chongqing, as well as a futuristic world that imagines life on Mars. The journey between the two exhibitions is taken via an express lift, which travels 47 floors in 52 seconds. As per the city’s current crowd management policies, 3,000 tickets are available per day, most of which were bought over the opening weekend. “The Exploration Deck is the first major attraction to launch in Chongqing since the lifting of the country’s nationwide lockdown and the public’s enthusiastic response is yet another encouraging sign of recovery in consumer sentiment,” said Lucas Loh, China president of property company CapitaLand Group, which is behind the development of the site. The Crystal, which opened in September 2019, is an enclosed sky bridge that is connected to six of Raffles City Chongqing’s eight skyscrapers. It’s 300 metres long (more than three times the height of America’s Statue of Liberty), 32.5 metres wide and has 10,000 square metres of floor space. It’s also known as the “horizontal skyscraper”. Aside from the new Exploration Deck, the attraction houses a members-only clubhouse with two swimming pools and a range of restaurants and bars. Its Sky Garden is scheduled to open later this year. _________________ Read more: Ras Al Khaimah staycation deal: free zipline ride and children stay and dine free Meet the eight-year-old Dubai resident who has already travelled to 68 countries The Abu Dhabi beaches that are now open _________________
