Dubai’s newest hotel has opened in one of the city’s most popular resorts. The design-centric JA Lake View Hotel is the third property at JA The Resort in Dubai’s Jebel Ali. Guests checking into the new hotel are welcomed by the sight of an 800-year-old olive tree as they arrive at the 348-room property on the sprawling grounds of one of Dubai's oldest resorts. The collection of hotels was named 'Dubai’s Most Sustainable Five-Star Resort' in June this year at the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Awards and JA Lake View Hotel is taking that title seriously. As well as solar-powered panels and paperless check-in, the hotel has developed an innovative food waste programme. JA Hotels and Resorts have already banned plastic bottles across all their hotels. Three outdoor swimming pools give guests plenty of choice when it comes to taking a dip and the Calm Spa is on site for those looking to unwind. Rooftop bar Bibe isn’t quite ready yet, but when it does open it promises awesome views over the one-million-square metre resort and the Arabian Gulf. South Asian and Indian dining comes courtesy of Kinara by Vikas Khanna. The Indian-born chef has hosted several seasons of MasterChef India and has written 34 award-winning cookbooks, He's aiming to bring affordable shared India dining inspired by traditional home-cooking to the resort. Elsewhere, JA Lake View Hotel is also home to a gastropub called Republik and 81 – an all-day dining restaurant named after the inaugural year that JA Resorts and Hotels opened its very first hotel. Guests staying at the JA Lake View Hotel can also use any of the facilities across JA The Resort meaning there’s seven swimming pools with four swim-up bars, 25 restaurants and bars, a 9-hole golf course, tennis, squash and badminton courts, horse-riding stables and six shooting ranges to chose from.
