Four new hiking trails have been launched in Hatta this week, offering visitors new routes to explore ahead of the winter season. The new trails span 32.6km, and will become the UAE’s longest signposted hiking trails. The four different routes will be colour-coded by difficulty, offering something for runners and walkers of all abilities. Much like how ski slopes are mapped, the beginners route will be coded green, the easy route blue, red for the intermediate trail, and black for the most challenging. Each trail will start at Hatta Wadi Hub and will be free for visitors to explore. Hatta is located just an hour-and-a-half’s drive from Dubai, and has gained a reputation as the UAE’s outdoor adventure destination. The exclave of the emirate sits on the border with Oman, and benefits from some fantastic natural scenery and a more laid-back pace of life than the UAE's big cities. The start of October official marks the start of a new season in Hatta, with both the Hatta Wadi Hub activity centre and luxury glamping resorts reopening for the cooler months. At Hatta Wadi Hub, you can take part in activities including downhill carting, zorbing, a human sling shot and axe throwing, to archery, free fall jumps, adventure rope courses, wall climbing and trampolining. The National's complete guide to Hatta can be found here.
