A well-heeled holiday in Mykonos
Christian Louboutin’s ode to the famous Greek island’s celebrity guests comes in the form of a temporary store in Nammos Village – Mykonos’s luxury shopping destination. Dubbed “Loubi Beach”, the summer pop-up is a collaboration between the designer and high-end clothing boutique Enny di Monaco. Swathed in the brand’s signature red hue, and adorned with neon lights and bright shelving, the store’s walls are lined with Louboutin’s fall/winter 2018 collection. There’s also a unique art installation on the ceiling, inspired by the island’s beachgoers that’s worth checking out. Loubi Beach is at Nammos Village, Nammos, Mykonos. A unique hotel pops up in London
An exclusive pop-up hotel designed by the director responsible for some of David Bowie's final music videos is set to open for a week in north London this month. Hotel 1729, a one-bedroom concept, was created by Tom Hingston and takes inspiration from the director's experience working with sets, sounds and lighting. It is designed around the theme of "Vivre est un art" (Living is an art). The experience includes a curated tasting menu by famed Danish experimental chef Bio Lindegaard. We're not sure how the hotel will look, but guests have been promised a "disruptive, imaginative and sensory experience with unexpected visual twists". Buy jewellery and help in Dubai
The emirate’s hospitality hub for art and fashion’s latest one-day pop-up is set to launch charitable jewellery brand uSfuur’s new line, uSfurr x Nawar – in collaboration with Sheikha Nawar Al Qassimi, development head at the Sharjah Art Foundation. The new jewellery line from Dubai-based designer Yara Tlass takes inspiration from the coloured sea-glass that is often found washed up on shores, and features limited-edition glass and 18 carat gold pieces featuring the signature uSfuur bird. The project has been set up with grassroots organisation, @myhomelandwatanili, which supports displaced Syrian children through art-therapy and education programs - so with every very USfuur piece purchased, a donation is made to a child in need. Mambo into the 1950s in Amman
A new Latino-style pop-up is taking up residence on the eighth floor of Campbell Gray Living in Abdali, Amman’s trendy downtown area. Las Cabanas promises patrons an “Instagram-worthy” swimming pool, and eight private Jacuzzis for hire, along with a restaurant inspired by Spain, Brazil, Mexico and the Caribbean. The aesthetic is “1950s Palm Springs poolside cocktail party”. Expect brightly coloured decor – pinks, turquoise, blue and yellow, and motifs of peacocks, maracas, bananas, coconuts, and flamingos – and pineapples, of course, as they’ve also declared this summer “the age of the pineapple”.
