The Hoxton Paris Fans of The Hoxton hotel brand, which has two hotels in London and one in Amsterdam, can now check into the Paris outpost , offering 172 rooms over five floors in an elegant 18th century residence in the 2nd arrondissement, not far from the Louvre Museum and Pompidou Centre. The hotel has a rococo exterior, inside there is a 300-year-old spiral staircase, and the hotel is set around two courtyards. Soho House has designed the indoor public areas, which include a brasserie-style restaurant. The hotel takes its name from the engineering and manufacturing institute across the road, and the concrete walls and timber chevron flooring – spell industrial chic, softened as they are by textured headboards and curtains. There is a slick Italian restaurant open seven days a week. Rooms cost from €188 (Dh820) per night including taxes. citizenM Paris Gare de Lyon Arguably the best location of them all is the new citizenM hotel close to Paris Gare De Lyon train station. The brand already has Paris outposts in La Defense and Charles de Gaulle airport, as well as properties in Amsterdam, London, Glasgow and Taipei. Aimed at prosperous Millenials and budget business travellers, there is a 24-hour café-bar and attractive lounge areas; the compact bedrooms are comfortable and modern, with rain showers, unlimited free movies and Wi-Fi, smart TVs and a custom “MoonPad” that controls room lighting.
