Forget Bikram, swing and rocket yoga. The newest variation to hit the UAE is aqua yoga and it’s sure to be popular given the summer heat.
Body Language Health Club at Al Barari, Dubai, is hosting an aqua yoga session in an outdoor pool of one of the show villas on Monday, August 29, from 7am to 8am. It is expected to be a monthly event.
The women-only class combines the principles and movement of yoga, with the water environment, to help participants stretch more, keep fit and relax.
The class costs Dh50, which also includes drinking water and towels. Shower facilities are available at the health club.

Plan to boost public schools
A major shake-up of government-run schools was rolled out across the country in 2017. Known as the Emirati School Model, it placed more emphasis on maths and science while also adding practical skills to the curriculum.
It was accompanied by the promise of a Dh5 billion investment, over six years, to pay for state-of-the-art infrastructure improvements.
Aspects of the school model will be extended to international private schools, the education minister has previously suggested.
Recent developments have also included the introduction of moral education - which public and private schools both must teach - along with reform of the exams system and tougher teacher licensing requirements.
