If you are looking for something active to do this weekend, cyclists can once again hit the track in Dubai’s Al Qudra. The government has confirmed that outdoor activities, including cycling, can resume across Dubai, and Trek Bicycle Store, on Al Qudra Road, Seih Al Salam, close to the Al Qudra cycle track, is now offering bikes and helmets for hire. It's from 2pm until 9pm on weekdays, and 7.30am to 8pm on weekends, throughout Ramadan. However, anyone wanting to rent a bike will have to adhere to strict safety measures, ensuring they wear a mask and gloves at all times, and follow social-distancing measures as set out by the government. “We are sanitising and thoroughly washing bikes and helmets before and after each use,” says Kesh Malli, general manager of Trek Bicycle Store. “We have a strict ‘no mask, no gloves, no service policy’. Customers must practise social distancing.” Cyclists using Al Qudra track are reminded to cycle in groups of no more than two at a time. Signs at the track also warn cyclists not to spit, and advise them to use hand sanitiser. Al Qudra track is a popular destination for cyclists in Dubai, boasting 86 kilometres of traffic-free cycling with unspoilt desert views, located about 30 minutes outside of the city.
