Mud-soaked mayhem is par for the course in Tough Mudder, and you can expect more of it than ever as the world-renowned obstacle challenge kicks off in Ras Al Khaimah on March 1. It’s the first time in Tough Mudder UAE history that the event will take place at Mina al Arab, Ras Al Khaimah. You'll also get to choose from four different course routes, which includes two new event formats. These are: Tough Mudder 5k (Dh350), which includes 13-plus obstacles; Tough Mudder Classic (Dh400), which involves more than 25 obstacles on a 10km route; Tough Mudder (Dh500), which is the same as Classic but includes prizes for fastest times; and Mini Mudder (Dh150), 1.6km course for children aged seven to 13. You'll also get the opportunity to try two new obstacles. Black Widow is a series of elevated tightropes suspended over the water; you need to stick to the rope and not drag any of your team members down with you. Meanwhile, Leap of Faith sees participants attempt to clear a water-filled gap, then grab on to a hanging rope net. Other obstacles making a return include Berlin Wall, Cage Crawl, Everest 2.0, Mud Mile, Pyramid Scheme, The Blockness Monster, and the optional Electroshock Therapy. Nic Cartwright of organiser Sabco Sports says they’re “dedicated to delivering the biggest, baddest, most epic Tough Mudder to the UAE. “We have selected the best obstacles in the game for the Mudder nation to get their teeth into.” Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, added: “We are confident that it will provide an unforgettable experience to sports and adventure enthusiasts visiting Ras Al Khaimah.” Are you tough enough?
