Palestinian fashion designer Nadya Hazboun started a project to help women create and market their products in her hometown of Bethlehem. All photos: Reuters

The project, known as 'Betwomen', is funded by Pro Terra Sancta.

The idea of the project is for women to gain a skill, such as sewing, while also developing themselves in other aspects.

Ms Hazboun helps women to start their own businesses by training them in design and sewing to produce home and kitchen accessories. She supports them by marketing their products.

Nadya Hazboun believes that the role of women in the Palestinian community must be developed to aid in diversifying families' sources of income, especially with so many being hit hard by the pandemic in a city that depends on tourism as its main source of income.
