We often sing the praises of the Northern Emirates, primarily because they’ve got everything to make a visitor’s Arabian dream come true – from magnificent mountains and pristine beaches to traditional souqs and a rich heritage. Now the region is being sprinkled with some stardust in the form of Brangelina.
As The National reported yesterday, the Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – who are also widely respected for their philanthropic efforts – are in Ras Al Khaimah, where Pitt is working on the final stretch of shooting for War Machine.
The visit comes at a time when RAK’s tourism sector has faced some challenges after visitor numbers from Russia dropped off sharply. There can be few better ways to sell the emirate and its many attractions to the world than by association with one of Hollywood’s power couples. Perhaps we should rename them “B-RAKelina”, at least, that is, for the duration of their stay.
