JIU-JITSU: Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, until April 24
With the best young talent on display for the first four days, the adults take to the mat for the grappling action from April 19. The best in the world in both the men's and women's categories, including Marcus Almeida, the three-time champion of the absolute, will be heading to Abu Dhabi for this tournament and a slice of the Dh2.5 million prize money. FOOTBALL: El Jaish v Al Ain, Asian Champions League, Tuesday, 6.30pm
With the Arabian Gulf League title all but surrendered to Al Ahli following last Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to the Dubai club, Al Ain switch their attentions to the Asian Champions League this week. Zlatko Dalic’s side will look to claw back El Jaish’s four-point lead at the top of Group D when they travel to Qatar on Tuesday. With only the top two to progress to the last 16, Al Ain currently sit second in the group on six points. Al Jazira have little more than pride left to play for in this year’s competition after three defeats and one draw from their first four games have left them bottom of Group B. Henk ten Cate’s side cannot catch second-placed Al Hlil, on eight points, even if they win their remaining two fixtures. They also play Tuesday, when Pakhtakor will be the visitors to Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium. Game kicks off at 8.50pm.

FOOTBALL: Al Nasr v Lokomotiv Tashkent, Asian Champions League, Wednesday, 5.55pm
Al Nasr are well-poised to progress to the knockout rounds of this year’s Asian Champions League with an impressive tally of seven points from their first four games in Group A. A 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal last time out maintained their four-point gap over the third-placed side and victory in Uzbekistan on Wednesday against Lokomotiv Tashkent would ensure their progress regardless of what happens in their final fixture. Their opponents, though, harbour the same ambition, and Lokomotiv will look to cement their position at the top of the group with a home victory.

WATERSPORTS: Al Gharbia Watersports Festival, April 21-30, Mirfa, Western Region
The eighth edition of the Al Gharbia Watersports Festival features a range of activities, including the Local Rowing Race, the Race for Tfares, Al Bwanich Sailing Race, the Marwah Sailing Race, the Jenana Sailing Race, the Regatta Race (UAE Sailing National Championship), the Kite Surfing Competition, the Kayak Boats Race, the Traditional Dhow Race, parachute sailing, swimming, beach volleyball and beach football. There are lots of prizes up for grabs, with a total prize fund of Dh4 million.
CYCLING: Ride Ajman, Friday, 6am
The Ajman Tourism Development Department have teamed up with Fairmont Ajman hotel and Ajman Bank for the 90-kilometre race, which is open to all cyclists above the age of 16. There is a smaller 7km charity race as well, the proceeds from which will be donated to a charity project in Ajman. The race will be flagged off at 6am from the Fairmont Ajman and head to Al Tallal Camel Racecourse before making its way back, while the charity race will be held on Ajman Corniche. Trophies and prizes will be given to the first, second and third place winners for men and women.
