Friday, midnight

Why? Hull may not have been getting results but their performances have improved in recent weeks. Yes, they had 3-0 defeats to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, but they should have won away at West Ham United two games ago. Everton's performances have been patchy and Hull could grind out a result.

Burnley 1 Sunderland 0

Saturday, 7pm

Why? Burnley at home against rivals from the bottom end of the table seems to go one way. A clean sheet, a goal or two and three points for a side who have won more home games than both Manchester clubs.

Chelsea 2 Stoke City 0

Saturday, 7pm

Why? Is there any stopping Chelsea? Perhaps they will stumble when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, but Stoke will not be able to prevent them getting three points on Saturday — especially with top scorer Diego Costa and midfielder N'Golo Kante back from suspension.

Leicester City 1 West Ham United 2

Saturday, 7pm

Why? Leicester need to be worried. Seriously worried. They are not scoring goals or keeping clean sheets and the luck that went their way last season has vanished. West Ham just put four past Swansea on the road and are getting back to the quality of performances they showed last season.

Manchester United 3 Middlesbrough 0

Saturday, 7pm

Why? United are playing some fine attacking football at the moment and, provided they can make a breakthrough early enough, they should brush Middlesbrough aside. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has 11 goals in his last 10 games in all competitions and will expect to get among the goals again.

Southampton 1 West Bromwich Albion 0

Saturday, 7pm

Why? Southampton can bounce back from their 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Nathan Redmond's suspension gives Dusan Tadic a chance to get back in the starting XI and the Serbian is one of the home side's most creative players. He can make a difference to their prospects.

Swansea City 2 Bournemouth 2

Saturday, 7pm

Why? The dismissal of Bob Bradley is unlikely to have any impact on Swansea's fortunes straight away, although they should get a point against Bournemouth. The home side have goals in them, which is great as they struggle to keep them out at the other end.

Liverpool 1 Manchester City 1

Saturday, 9.30pm

Why? The return of Sergio Aguero is obviously a huge boost for City. They need a solid performance from their back four, who kept a rare clean sheet at Hull City in their last game. There should be goals in this, but with neither side great at the back a draw is the most likely outcome.

Watford 0 Tottenham Hotspur 1

Sunday, 5.30pm

Why? The home side have lost four of their last six but are still in the top 10. They are struggling to find the net though and Spurs have an impressive defence. Palace controlled much of the game in Boxing Day's 1-1 draw and Tottenham will do the same.

Arsenal 3 Crystal Palace 1

Sunday, 8pm

Why? Palace were unlucky not to win Sam Allardyce's first game in charge, at Watford, and already looked sharper in attack. But this is Arsenal with lots of attacking quality and they will be lucky to keep the scoreline down.
