Manchester City kicked off their summer exhibition tour of the United States with a 3-0 victory over the Portland Timbers.
Stephen Ireland and Emmanuel Adebayor scored quick back-to-back goals for City, who have been training at the Nike corporate headquarters in the Oregon city of Beaverton for the past week.
"It's good for my confidence to score goals," Adebayor said.
The Toure brothers, Kolo and Yaya, did not play against the Timbers and neither did David Silva; but Patrick Vieira, Emmanuel Adebayor and Joe Hart started.
"That was really the first length of a game we've done," said Brian Kidd, the assistant manager. "I thought it was a terrific workout for the boys."
Claudio Borghi, the Boca Juniors coach, hopes the club can put together a deal to bring Juan Roman Riquelme back to La Bombonera in time for the coming season.
The out-of-contract Riquelme has been linked with Everton, Tottenham, West Ham and the Brazilian club Flamengo this summer.
"The club directors are negotiating with him," Borghi said.

Mia Man’s tips for fermentation
- Start with a simple recipe such as yogurt or sauerkraut
- Keep your hands and kitchen tools clean. Sanitize knives, cutting boards, tongs and storage jars with boiling water before you start.
- Mold is bad: the colour pink is a sign of mold. If yogurt turns pink as it ferments, you need to discard it and start again. For kraut, if you remove the top leaves and see any sign of mold, you should discard the batch.
- Always use clean, closed, airtight lids and containers such as mason jars when fermenting yogurt and kraut. Keep the lid closed to prevent insects and contaminants from getting in.
