Haider Ali announced himself as one of the most precocious young talents in the international game by becoming the first Pakistan player to score a half-century on his T20I debut. The 19-year-old’s effort set the platform for a five-run win which earned Pakistan a 1-1 draw in the lockdown series at Old Trafford. Two players from the other end of the age spectrum aided Pakistan in their victory effort. Mohammed Hafeez, 39, blazed a second successive half-century, before Wahab Riaz, 35, took 2-26 as Pakistan defended the 190-4 they had posted. The win meant Pakistan ended a tough tour with a share of the T20I series, having been comfortably beaten in the previous match. The first game of the series was washed out.
