ENGLAND RATINGS V HUNGARY: Jordan Pickford - 6: Sent wrong way by Roland Sallai’s first-half penalty but that was Hungary’s only shot on target despite a good performance by away team. AP

Kyle Walker - 6: Partnership down right with Manchester City teammate Sterling failed to get going in opening half. Tried to find teammates with a few searching long-balls with little joy. Gifted ball to Hungary just before hour but was rescued by teammates. PA

John Stones - 7: Bundled home close-range equaliser at back post from Foden’s cross and was inches away from a second goal with header in second half. EPA

Tyrone Mings - 7: Aston Villa defender won towering early header on half-way line that set England off on early attack but had to be on his toes throughout at the back as Hungary proved dangerous opponents. EPA

Luke Shaw - 6: Lovely one-two with Grealish in first 10 minutes followed by low cross that nearly picked out Kane. While he was always looking to push on, his final ball wasn't great. Gave away penalty and booked for reckless high kick towards Loic Nego’s head. AFP

Declan Rice - 6: Playing without usual partner Kalvin Phillips at anchor of midfield and found himself isolated or chasing back with no cover on occasions when Hungary pushed forward. Remains crucial player for England, though. EPA

Mason Mount - 6: Awful pass across pitch straight to opposition that set Hungary off on attack after 15 minutes but generally neat and tidy without anything spectacular. EPA

Phil Foden - 7: Looks like he might float away he’s so light on his feet but, unlike previous opponents Andorra, Hungary gave him no time on ball. Angled perfect free-kick into box for Stones’ leveller. EPA

Jack Grealish - 7: Fantastic backheel to play one-two with Shaw down left in opening 10 minutes and generally England’s biggest threat going forward in opening half. Quieter after break but very harsh to be first man hooked just after hour mark and didn’t look happy. Getty

Raheem Sterling - 5: Little impact until his header at back post was parried away by Hungary keeper Peter Gulasci just before break and then put rebound wide. Through on goal in 70th minute but keeper out quickly to save. Not his usual high standards for England. PA

Harry Kane - 4: Bar one dubious penalty claim, captain barely figured until curling weak effort straight at keeper 55 minutes in, then smashed wildly off-target when through with 15 minutes to go but was offside anyway. Supply line was poor but still very disappointing night. PA

SUBS: Bukayo Sako – (On for Grealish 62’) 6: A few flashes of quality but was badly caught in possession in last 10 minutes handing great chance to Hungary that substitute Filip Holender could only curl over bar. PA
