TOTTENHAM RATINGS: Hugo Lloris – 7 The Frenchman could do little about either goal, particularly Kamada’s opener after a goalmouth scramble. He had to get low to keep out a Lindstrom effort before the break, and again to tip over Lindstrom’s second-half shot. Getty Images

Cristian Romero – 7. Another solid display in defence with a number of blocks and clearances. He tested the goalkeeper on the stroke of half-time with a terrific header to the far corner. PA

Eric Dier – 6. An uncharacteristic error saw Dier at fault for Frankfurt’s opener when a poor touch enabled Lindstrom to steal the ball. He had a chance to make amends with a free-kick, but it took a deflection and finished wide. Booked early on, so did well to play as well as he did for the following 78 minutes. Getty Images

Clement Lenglet – 7. Returned to the starting line-up and notably had an eye for a range of passes to get Spurs on the attack. Looked confident in defence too. Getty Images

Emerson Royal – 6. Offered an attacking presence and had a hand in both Son goals, but his final ball sometimes let him down. His second-half challenge to deny Lindstrom was timed to perfection. AFP

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 8. This was one of Hojbjerg’s standout games, tracking back to complete his defensive duties when Lenglet and Sessegnon were tested by Lindstrom, while also keeping the pressure on in Spurs’ attack. He delivered the teasing cross for Son to volley home. Getty Images

Rodrigo Bentancur – 7. Whilst it was Hojbjerg’s time to dominate the midfield battle, Bentancur continued to be a handy addition and partner. Used the ball well. Getty Images

Ryan Sessegnon – 8. A large part of Spurs’ dominance after the restart, he was lively on the wing and came close to scoring his second Champions League goal when he tracked Richarlison’s sprint and forced Trapp into blocking his shot. Getty Images

Son Heung-min – 9. He beat the offside trap to race between Frankfurt’s backline and tuck Kane’s sublime through ball past Trapp. He then volleyed Hojbjerg’s cross in superb fashion, giving Trapp no chance. Could – and maybe should – have had a hat-trick by half-time. Getty Images

Richarlison – 7 Lively, and unlucky to see a header go wide of the post when he beat Trapp in the air. Used his strength to overpower Ndicka before playing Sessegnon in for a chance on goal. Getty Images

Harry Kane – 8. Scorer and provider, he first set up Son by dropping deep to collect the ball and threading through a perfect pass for his teammate to race onto. Tuta – 4 Denied Son a tap-in, but was sent off early when he decided to grab and hold the South Korean despite having already been booked. Getty Images

Makoto Hasebe – 5 The Japanese struggled to handle Kane in the ways he did in the reverse fixture. Booked, and narrowly avoided a second yellow. Getty Images

Evan Ndicka – 5. Wrestled and beaten by Richarlison, who was played in by Emerson, saw the Brazilian free to cross to Sessegnon in a dangerous move in the second half. Getty Images
