Brentford have agreed a £27.5 million deal to sign Liverpool winger Fabio Carvalho on a five-year deal. The package is believed to include a number of add-ons and a 17.5 per cent sell-on clause, with Liverpool receiving an initial fee of £22.5m. However, as part of the £5m deal that took the Portuguese to Anfield in 2022, Fulham are due 20 per cent of the fee the Bees are paying. Brentford beat Southampton, who had a £15m offer rejected by Liverpool, to clinch the 21-year-old's signature. Carvalho struggled to make his mark at Anfield, scoring three times in 21 games. He spent last season out on loan at first RB Leipzig and then Hull, where he scored nine goals in 20 Championship games as the Tigers narrowly missed out on the play-offs. Brentford open their Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday. Leicester earlier completed the loan signing of Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton. The Seagulls revealed the 19-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder had signed a new four-year deal before confirming his season-long switch to the Foxes. Buonanotte made 36 appearances for Brighton last season, scoring four times, and could feature for Steve Cooper’s side in their Premier League opener against Tottenham on Monday, August 19.
