Real Madrid received a big blow on Sunday as Eden Hazard was ruled out of the Champions League last-16 match against Manchester City after suffering a broken ankle during Saturday's defeat at Levante. The Belgium playmaker had only recently returned from a three-month lay-off due to an ankle problem and had to be replaced in the second half during the 1-0 loss at the Ciutat de Valencia. Hazard underwent tests on the injury on Sunday, after which Real Madrid confirmed the injury. A statement from the club said: "Following the tests carried out today on our player, Eden Hazard, by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with a fracture to his right distal fibula. His recovery will continue to be assessed." Madrid did not reveal how long they expect Hazard to be sidelined for but reports suggest he could be out for another two months. That would rule Hazard out of the Champions League matches against Manchester City on Wednesday and Sunday's Clasico against Barcelona, as well as a bunch of other games for Zinedine Zidane's team. Following the match against Levante, manager Zidane had said the injury did not look good. "I think it's a knock to the same area where he suffered his last injury and it does not look good," Zidane said.
