Mason Mount's "quality" has pushed the midfielder into Frank Lampard's thinking for the new Premier League season. The 20 year old continued his impressive pre-season as he helped the London side come from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday . He won the penalty four minutes from time that allowed Ross Barkley to equalise. ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ Mount scored twice against Reading in July and has been a regular in the squad as Lampard prepares for his first season as manager after taking over from Maurizio Sarri. Lampard knows Mount well after the youngster spent last season on loan at Derby County, the Championship club Lampard was managing. "He's done a lot," Lampard told reporters post-match in Germany. "I’m really happy with how he’s training, how he’s playing and his status in the group coming back here. "The players recognise quality instantly but they also recognise work rate and character - and Mason has all of those. He has given me a problem ... "I couldn’t ask for more from what Mason has done." Chelsea start their league campaign on August 11 at Manchester United and Lampard is positive about how his side are shaping up for the new season. "It was a nice way to finish pre-season but we must stay focused as United in the Premier League is a different animal," the former England midfielder added.
