Premier League champions Manchester City face current leaders Liverpool on Sunday in one of the biggest matches of the season – and it will be screened for free in Abu Dhabi. City are trailing their rivals by six points and can cut that gap in half if they go to Anfield and claim a famous victory. Manchester City will be hosting a special screening at Zayed Sports City, showing the live action on the giant screen at Pitch 15 – with beanbag seating and refreshments available. Micah Richards, a City legend who was recently in the UAE for a club trophy tour, hopes their local fans will be out in force for such a big game. He said: “You have so many nationalities in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE, and to see lots of them supporting City and really understanding the club is brilliant to see. “There is nothing better than them all coming together for big games and they have had lots to cheer about in recent seasons – let’s hope that continues.” City were the last team to beat Liverpool in the Premier League, winning 2-1 at the Etihad in January thanks to a late Leroy Sane goal. The event starts at 8pm with kick-off at 8.30pm UAE time.
