Liverpool rode their luck to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League season on Sunday as they defeated bottom side Fulham 2-0 at Anfield. The game was defined by a key moment in the 41st minute as Fulham went from thinking they had gone ahead to trailing in just 14 seconds. Aleksandar Mitrovic was judged to be fractionally offside as he headed home from close range. Fulham were caught unaware as Liverpool quickly restarted the game and Trent Alexander-Arnold's ball down the right flank released Mohamed Salah to run through and net. Liverpool were in cruise control seven minutes after half time as Xherdan Shaqiri was left unmarked in the penalty area to volley home Andrew Robertson's cross. The victory puts Liverpool back on top of the table, although they will drop back to third by the end of Sunday if Chelsea defeat Everton in the game that kicks off at 6.15pm UAE time, while Manchester City will take top spot later if they avoid defeat against Manchester United when they play at 8.30pm.
