UAE midfielder Omar Abdulrahman has arrived in Riyadh as he is set to complete his loan move from Arabian Gulf League champions Al Ain to Al Hilal. Abdulrahman, 26, was met by hundreds of enthusiastic supporters of the Saudi Professional League side at the airport when he landed in the early hours of Wednesday. The heavily rumoured deal had been completed on Monday night between the club two sides. Abdulrahman, who won four league titles with Al Ain after making his debut for them in 2009, had been out of contract with the Garden City club. But he signed a new three-year deal, with a reported caveat of the deal being that he be allowed to be loaned to Hilal for the coming season. The proposed deal for Abdulrahman, the AFC Asian Player of the Year in 2016, to move to the Saudi club for the season is worth a reported €14 million (Dh59.7m). Hilal have had a busy summer with former Sporting Lisbon manager Jorge Jesus appointed, while Peru forward Andre Carrillo and Spanish defender Alberto Botia have already been recruited. They are the defending champions in the Saudi Professional League, but are already out of the Asian Champions League this year after being eliminated in the group stages earlier in the year. ____________ Read more Get Omar Abdulrahman focused and sharpen the attack: Issues to tackle as UAE head to Austria for Asian Cup training camp UAE hailed as 'the perfect host' as 2019 Asian Cup tickets go on sale Zaccheroni has 'total faith in my players' as UAE draw Thailand, India and Bahrain in 2019 Asian Cup group ___________ The news comes as Abdulrahman and the UAE prepare for the Asian Cup in January on home soil.
