What is at stake
There are effectively two main prizes on offer this week: the DP World Tour Championship title for the winner of the four-day event and the Race to Dubai crown, which crowns the European Tour's No 1 for the year.
Defending champions
Matthew Fitzpatrick won the DP World Tour title last year, while Henrik Stenson was the Race to Dubai winner in 2016.
