Kundra – who along with Bollywood actress-wife owns 11.7 pr cent stakes in the <a href="gopher://topicL3RoZW5hdGlvbmFsL0V2ZW50cy9JbmRpYW4gUHJlbWllciBMZWFndWUgKElQTCk=" inlink="topic::L3RoZW5hdGlvbmFsL0V2ZW50cy9JbmRpYW4gUHJlbWllciBMZWFndWUgKElQTCk=">Indian Premier League (IPL)</a> franchise – was last week arrested for his alleged involvement in betting. The businessman had reportedly confessed to Delhi police that he indeed put bets on IPL matches. Betting in all sports, barring horse racing, is banned in India. Kundra was questioned by police during investigations into a spot-fixing scandal that has led to the arrest of Rajasthan players Shantakumaran Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan.<span><br/><br/>The decision to suspend Kundra was taken at an emergency meeting convened by the BCCI's working committee in Delhi on Monday.</span> He is the second person associated with the senior management of an IPL franchise to be arrested by police and later suspended by the Indian cricket board. The first was Gurunath Meiyappan, who was supposedly team principal at Chennai Super Kings. Meiyappan also happens to be the son-in-law of N Srinivasan, the president of the BCCI. Follow us
