Aaron Rowan had two hits while Randy Winn hit a two-run double. The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Colorado Rockies 11-7 for the first time in four games. They got the onslaught under way as Chris Young had a three run double while Stephen Drew struck a two-run homer. Hanley Ramirez also struck a two-run homer, propelling the Florida Marlins to a 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, while the Cincinnati Reds defeated the St Louis Cardinals 5-2 with Joey Votto's two RBIs.
The Minnesota Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 4-3 when Nick Punto singled in the eighth. Michael Cuddyer struck a fourth-inning home run while Justin Morneau had four hits. Vladimir Guerrero, Chone Figgins and Tori Hunter all had RBIs, and Guerroreo struck a home run and hit a three-run effort in a six-run eighth inning, propelling the Los Angeles Angels an 11-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles.
