As Ali Khaled wrote about on Monday, with the second annual Arab Women Sports Tournament, "Sharjah is home to one progressive competition not even their southern neighbours can claim." Featuring 900 athletes from 14 Arab nations in seven disciplines, the tournament has provided the rare regional showcase for female athletes. One of those disciplines is basketball, and the organisers for the tournament passed along a photo from a tight, 74-72 win for Baniyas over Qatar, and two more from Al Mokawloon of Jordan's game v Bahraini Muharreq.
