This week's talented showcase of students include two rugby players from Al Yasmina School with eyes on international rugby, a 15 year old golfer who set the junior and ladies course record at Al Hamra Golf Club and Al Mawakeb's teenage basketball star. Mustafa Sheiton This 16-year-old pupil of Raha International School, Abu Dhabi, wants to be the first rugby star to have been born in Libya. He plays at tight-head prop but his 6ft 2ins frame means a career as a No 8 awaits him. His coaches believe the youngster has what it takes to anchor a scrum. Mustafa, who spent time in Canada, has his eye on a rugby scholarship in North America where the game has become increasingly popular. Nathan Oyet His teachers at Al Yasmina school are hoping this 15 year old as a potential future UAE rugby international player. The full-back is a boy who, unlike some in this position, likes a tackle and would like to continue in the sport, and not only as a hobby. "I have been playing for three years now, as rugby is my life," Nathan has said. Sana Tufail This month Tufail, 15, shot a round of 68 gross (four-under par and a course record for juniors and ladies) to take the Junior Open gross prize at Al Hamra Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah. Tufail, a pupil at British School Al Khubairat in Abu Dhabi, hit four consecutive birdies to be four under (32) at the turn and found herself six under after 16 holes, dropping her first shot of the round on the 17th. Munther Farras Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Farras is one of the stars of Al Mawakeb School's basketball team. The 17 year old was the rock of his team's win against Jumeirah College in the Dubai High School Basketball Championship last weekend. "I take my basketball seriously. I play in defence and was happy with my performance because I got most of the rebounds," he said. UAE school sports Athlete of the Week: Hassan Al Asmawi has interests in football and wrestling, but is passionate about rugby.
