The Emirates Human Rights Association solved 180 out of 428 complaints received since the beginning of the year and until November 23, according to statistics.
The remaining complaints were referred to relevant agencies. Some were unrelated to human rights issues, while others were judicial issues that fall outside the jurisdiction of the association.
The complaints included arbitrary dismissal, withheld passports by employer, deportation rulings, residency for Syrian citizens, financial aid, rental debts, school fees, acquiring Emirati citizenship, schools’ rejection of disabled students, domestic abuse, the withholding of education or marriage for daughters, police abuse and non-payment of alimony.
